wear.

last night i woke from a dream to the sound of my phone ringing. i was a little confused as i dragged myself from dreamland. but as soon as i saw that 808 area-code, i knew it was him. i can't remember much of what we talked about...i remember him telling me he got caught up on the blog (aka: our life) and he was glad we got to go to mary poppins and he told me i looked beautiful. (okay, i may have been dreaming that last bit.) but i remember we talked about thanksigiving and nick wearing that heinous sweater. no matter what he said, or what i said, hearing his voice was a dream come true.
i love you mr.a. i loveyouloveyouloveyouloveyou!!! and i can't wait to take advantage of you when you come home! please wear that uniform. and maybe that thing with all the bullets on it. (tmi? tmi. sorry.)
anyway, i woke to another mcfreezing cold day in iowa. and this is what i wore:

striped shirt: gap ($12)
thermal shirt: gap ($12)
jeans: f21 ($12)
socks: who knows...
boots: steve madden (so super-old)
scarf: gap (gift)
vest: gap ($35)
there's a lotta gap goin' on here.

p.s. i've been adding "mc" to lots of words lately. not sure why. it just sounds right. i don't even love mcdonalds that much, more of an arby's girl. but try it. it just sounds right. sometimes i say "what the mc-what?!" or "halle-mc-lujah." that's probably sacregligious. but i don't mean anything by it. it just rolls off the tongue. try it: "hallemclujah!" is this a really weird post? sorry. it's getting late. and i've had a glass of wine. ok, two.

  3. I am a fan of weird wine posts. Although, I kinda think that bullet thing is scary! But, since we're sharing TMI, I am a big fan of dog tags over a white tee. Hoo boy.

  4. I found your blog a couple of days ago and have had some very late nights reading it:) I think you are hilarious and totally speak to a mother's heart. My kids are a couple of years older than yours but reading your posts reminds of those hard days and how I long for them. I also wanted to let you know that your style is totally awsome. Too many times I look at blogs and think that something is totally cute but then how would I a) wear it around my small town with out getting strange looks and b) be able to function with my very busy 4 and 6 year olds. I wanted to ask your style advice I'm going to Vegas at the end of dec and in bad need of cloths. Not even a want NEED. I wanted to know what you think would make some good purchases. I need tops and bottoms and shoes. Would love any advice. So happy you got to talk to your man!!

  7. So... I wore a maternity shirt just because I like it (and no, I haven't been pregnant yet BUT I bought it cuz you can't tell it's a maternity shirt and it is great for bloated days and maybe someday I'll be able to wear it for it's real purpose. Made me think of you and a recent post of yours.
