fresh air.
i'm fortunate to have married into a large family.
a large, loud, hilarious, kooky family.
my father-in-law is one of eight children who grew up sharing beds and bottles and boots on the family farm. many still live nearby, and this past weekend, a bunch of us spent the weekend at the farm.
saturday evening, my cute cousin kate and i took the farm dog, lady (or is it goldie?), on a walk. grandma laughed at me when i inquired about her leash.
we walked up the road to uncle marty's house.
on our way there, cousin brittany and her boyfriend drove past. they stopped and we chatted for a bit. then cousins claire and maddy drove past (don't tell. claire only has her school permit. but it's okay. our uncle marty is the county sheriff.) we had kool-aid at marty's and said hi to the younger cousins there.

a couple of the young'un cousins decided to walk with us.
they lagged behind while kate & i had a serious discussion about...jeans.
then uncle tom drove by & asked if we wanted to hitch a ride. he was coming in from
combining his fields. since i was the oldest, i called shotgun.
but the girls didn't argue.
it was such a beautiful night on the farm.

  1. I really like those first two photos. Nice work!

  2. Sounds like a fun weekend! Love the farm pictures.

  3. There is something magical about that farm. Every time I'm on it, I feel like I've been transported back in time. Worries fade away. And you're reminded of what really matters in life. Hope you and the girls spend a lot of time out there in the coming months.
